Rantec is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Position Summary:

The Rantec Repairs Service Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure the business unit is meeting goals that contribute to the overall success of the Company.  The position has a broad range of responsibilities; from establishing policies and procedure for the business segment; creating and implement strategies to achieve targets; assuring that the day-to-day operations supporting the segment are operating effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but, are not limited to the following;
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures across functional lines relative to the repairs business.
  • Manages interfaces with customer services, quality, engineering, finance and supply chain departments, as required.
  • Accurate interpretation of policies and procedures to provide a uniform approach to repairs.
  • Ability to hold others accountable and to ensure policies and procedure are followed consistently across the business.
  • Actively monitors business unit goals to ensure that progress is made, and goals are on track to reach the desired outcome by set deadlines.
  • Lead efforts in supplier performance improvement based on scorecards and internal metrics.
  • Communicates the expectation levels and vision to team members.
  • Motivate, encourage and train staff in a manner that results in high performance and general growth of the business unit.
  • Oversee a Repairs Administrator, ensuring day-to-day procedures are executed on time.
  • Devise new marketing strategies to increase product sales or reexamine and modify strategies that are not pushing the business unit to meet its goals.
  • Ability to be well-organized, analytical and work towards the big picture while still keeping the day-to-day objectives on track.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as required.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
  • As the Company’s success relies on the productivity of our team and adherence to customer product schedules, an essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on-time, and work each day, as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires access to our export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology and services.  These items are restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S. and properly licensed foreign persons.  Therefore, employment is contingent on compliance with ITAR regulations and successfully obtaining and maintaining the necessary export authorization license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of State’s Office of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.
 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business.
  • 5+ years of Supervision, Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing/Operations experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of the business and present to groups.
  • Ability to use data to determine root causes of issues and to drive corrective action.
  • Ability to successfully execute duties under pressure from deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to provide accurate concise management summary of status and information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Access, and MRP/ERP systems.

  • Moving between sitting, standing and walking.
