Position Summary

Provide quality assurance support to Rantec suppliers performing tasks such as material review and dispositioning, interface with suppliers on quality issues, supplier evaluation, selection, monitoring and scope of approval, requirements for suppliers, corrective action, surveillance and performance improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support supplier quality efforts of selected key suppliers. This support includes supplier evaluation, selection, re-evaluation, and monitoring and managing supplier risks. 
  • Communicate with key suppliers by conference call or site visits to review and close actions with suppliers, including the following:
    • Verify supplier quality systems by auditing.
    • Inform suppliers of newly discovered problems and coordinate return of product.
    • Follow-up with suppliers on supplier assigned corrective actions to ensure containment, root cause and prevention of recurrence.
    • Drive continual improvement of supplier compliance to requirements.  Update supplier records. 
  • Ensure PWB, Magnetics, Metal Fabrication and coating suppliers comply with applicable flow-down requirements.
  • Where applicable, disposition rejected incoming material and seek out engineering input when needed.
  • As needed or as directed, issue non-conformance reports and corrective actions to suppliers.
  • When needed, coordinate outside lab failure analysis and support problem solving with suppliers.
  • Perform duties as an internal auditor and perform Quality Assurance related tasks as assigned by management. 
  • Create X-ray, Keyence LM-X and Keyence VS system recipes.
  • Create inspection plans.
  • Generate Rantec FAIs and evaluate FAIs submitted by suppliers.
  • Travel up to 25% in support of customer and supplier audits.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
  • As the Company’s success relies on the productivity of our team and adherence to customer product schedules, an essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on-time, and work each day, as scheduled
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in a quality assurance role preferred.
  • Approval certification in industry standards such as IPC-A-600, J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 requirements and implementation of processes to meet AS9100 requirements.
  • Sound accept/reject reasoning skills in parts and material.
  • Understanding of containment, root cause and effective corrective action.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Troubleshooting experience desirable.
  • Machine operation & programming experience desirable.
  • Associate degree preferred.

Salary Range: $33.67 - $43.77 Hourly
